Bay Aging is honored to announce a generous $20,000 donation from Bon Secours Richmond in support of Bay Aging’s Homeless Solutions programs. This critical investment comes at a time when cold weather is intensifying the challenges faced by individuals and families experiencing housing instability across the region. Support from Bon Secours enables us to put resources to immediate use – through emergency housing, weatherization, and essential home repairs – allowing us to respond swiftly and compassionately to urgent community needs.

“We are deeply grateful to Bon Secours Richmond for recognizing the urgent needs in our community,” said Kathy Vesley, Bay Aging President and CEO. “This support allows us to take immediate action for families facing crisis during the coldest and most dangerous months of the year.”

A single $20,000 investment can help Bay Aging provide:

· Heating system installation for households with no heat

· Wheelchair-accessible ramps for homes

· Utility assistance for families at risk of having services shut off

As the lead agency for the Northern Neck Middle Peninsula Housing Coalition, Bay Aging oversees coordinated entry, targeted prevention, and rapid re-housing programs for community members experiencing homelessness. Bon Secours’ support will help strengthen these services and expand rapid-response capabilities during the winter season.

The gift also reflects strong volunteer leadership within the organizations. Jimmie Carter, Vice-Chair of the Bay Aging Foundation Board and a member of the Bon Secours Richmond Health System Board of Directors, has played a vital role in fostering collaborative partnerships that uplift vulnerable neighbors.

“Bon Secours Richmond’s commitment to community health extends far beyond hospital walls,” said Carter. “Their generosity will have a direct, life-changing impact on families in crisis.”

Bay Aging encourages community partners and supporters to join Bon Secours in helping ensure warmth, safety, and stability for residents in need.
